How long does it take to complete these projects?

Each project can be completed, on average, in under 5 hours. We provide you with hints if you are struggling and access to a Slack channel where you can collaborate with others who are enrolled in the project.

Are these practice projects realistic?

Yes, they are created by practitioners in that role and are designed to be universal (i.e., apply to that role across all companies in the industry).

Do the practice projects have prerequisites?

Yes, prerequisites are listed on each project page.

You don't have very many projects available right now. Are these the only projects that you will offer on your platform?

No! :) Many more will be released soon. In the near future, new projects will be added to our platform weekly.

WHY WOULD I ENROLL IN PROJECTS WHEN I COULD GAIN ACTUAL EXPERIENCE IN MY DESIRED ROLE AT A STARTUP/COMPANY DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR?

A few reasons:

  1. While actual experience is very valuable, it is unlikely that you will gain experience in all the core areas of a role because the work that you are assigned is a function of the current needs of the business. If you do a 10 week internship at a company, for example, you may only focus on 1 to 2 things during your entire experience.
  2. We ensure that what you learn from our projects is the "right way" since the goal of these projects is to help people upskill for their specific roles. As a result, it doesn't matter if the companies you work for take shortcuts in completing tasks to save time and resources; you’ll have a strong foundation and be able to recognize the shortcuts instead of internalizing that's the "right way" to complete a task. That's a very powerful perspective to be armed with when starting internships and full-time jobs.
  3. Time! Internships often go for many months. Our projects, on average, are completed in 3 to 5 hours.
